The Best of Wrecks offer you more than spectacular wreck diving in the area around the Sognefjord. This area was of great strategic importance during WWII. The area was not as
heavily defended by German fighters as further south, and still within reach of Allied bombers. We will give you the very interesting story behind why we have this ships here, and you will know the story when entering the water.
Gulen Dive Resort offers 20+ spectacular wrecks and several of them are truly world class. Our pride and joy are Frankenwald, voted Norway’s Best Wreck in 2009 by the Norwegian dive magazine.
We offer several annual wreck diving events, like the Wreck Safari and Tec Safari, just ask us for the next upcoming event or we can plan one for you and your friends. Below you will find details of the different packages and how it works. We are highly flexible so for a group we can help out with a mix of type of dives and length based on your qualification.
The Best of Wrecks
is basically wreck diving in a normal way, with 2 dives per day and with a normal recreational configuration. If you choose this package you will be able to dive up to 75min max runtime for a dive, and also use of one stage. We will not be difficult if somebody in the group has more stages, or need other configuration. But the main part of a group on this diving is not doing longer deeper dives. This is fun wreck diving, with all safety included. Will be a good choice if a group has a mixed configuration and dive level.
MAX amount of 12 divers on the boat.
The Wreck Safari
is based on doing 2 dives a day, with one deep and one shallower dive as the last. Dive time can be up to 90min for the first dive and 60min for the last dive. We plan the dives together with the group onsite to find the best mix of deep and shallow dives so it´s easier to plan for the upcoming days.
It´s also included that divers can use 1 stages per diver. The diving fit´s RB and twinsets for back gas. We can handle most types of setups and have a long experience to handle this type of diving.
If you want to use UW scooter we need to know before arrival, this has to do with space onboard the boat and be able to plan accordingly.
MAX amount of 10 divers on the boat.
The Tec Safari
is based on doing 1 long dive per day. For some days it will be possible to do several dives, with the last as a shallower dive. Our goal for the week is to have a low-stress level and search for quality instead of the number of dives.
It´s also included that divers are using several stages and both RB and twinsets for back gas. We can handle most types of setups and have a long experience to handle these situations. If you want to use UW scooter we need to know before arrival, this has to do with space onboard the boat and be able to plan accordingly.
MAX amount of 8 divers on the boat.
